All those that are not yet registered for a project thesis in Global Business, IT, or wherever should contact Peter as soon as possible. Course attendance in Bilbao does not lead directly to a project - and projects in the context of quality need a promoter in Dortmund.
According to the official course structure in EuroMPM2 there are 4 specializations offered in Dortmund:
plus additional specializations offered together with foreign partner universities - especially with Bilbao in the area of:
Quality management
The 3rd semester of the EuroMPM includes a project embedded in a specialization. The specializations consists of a teaching unit of 12 ECTS and the project that counts 18 ECTS.
Most students in the past selected the teaching unit on quality management in Bilbao and got additional individual support for the project. The teaching unit in Bilbao is highly recommended because this unit is universal regarding the content and can contribute to all kinds of projects. It´s an additional experience that costs less than fees before - our students only pay for flights and accommodation.
Students are free to make individual proposals for projects and may discuss opportunities with all lecturers.
There are several options we prepare
Global business projects - as discussed in the conference - with classes very week except the Bilbao week - could be combined with the teaching unit in Bilbao.
Project management for e-commerce projects - one block together with the students from Bilbao plus 2 days before and 2 days thereafter organized by Peter - could be combined with the teaching unit in Bilbao.
Logistics projects - an option for about 2 students connected with an internship and further support from lecturers in Dortmund - should be combined with the teaching unit in Bilbao
Project management for IT-projects - with options supported by lecturers from faculties of computer science and business administration - could be combined with the teaching unit in Bilbao.
According to Peter´s proposals there are project options like
Business rules and decision tables - applications, software evaluation, ...
Thesaurus project management - extend existing approaches - in Bilbao they also start with that project for the Spanish students - cooperation would be fine
Research on standards - check ISO25100 presentation of the conference - linked to project management associations
Analysis of dependences in projects and programs - mathematical methods like design structure matrix and software - linked to project and program audit
SAP - especially the project modul
all such projects should be combined with the teaching unit in Bilbao. There will be individual support.
Student should inform Peter and Corinna at once about their priorities regarding projects and specializations. There is no guarantee that we can meet all requirements - especially when the groups are too large.
Peter starts consultation on projects and specializations on next Monday (9-14), Thuesday (9-10) and Friday (9-10).
